23/08/2010 VIÑAS DEL VERO BEGINS THE 2010 HARVEST
In the morning of the 23rd of August, the Viñas del Vero harvest began after a cold and uncertain agricultural year. As usual in Viñas del Vero and in line with our innovative spirit, once more we bet for a night harvest in order to preserve the quality of the grapes and to reduce the energetic consumption. In Viñas del Vero, we are working every harvest to get the best wines from a selection of the best grapes that we manage to obtain each year. We begin with the early varieties, like Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and it is expected to finish during the first week of October with the Garnacha grapes from the Secastilla Valley.

Several Viñas del Vero wines have garnered high points from the american magazine "Wine Enthusiast" for their August 2010 issue. The following wines earnd such recognition: Blecua, 91 points and Cellar Selection, VdV Gran Vos 88 points and VdV Secastilla, 87 points.
03/05/2010 VdV LA MIRANDA DE SECASTILLA 2007 IN THE MARKET
The 2007 harvest has been considered like one of the best in the recently history of Somontano region. VdV La Miranda de Secastilla 2007 is the second vintage of this particular wine. This wine is made mainly from Garnacha grapes of the Secastilla Valley with an original "touch" of Syrah and Parraleta grapes. It is a disctintive wine with an unique personality and an unforgettable structure and complexity.
27/03/2010 THREE GOLD MEDALS FOR VIÑAS DEL VERO WINES IN THE USA 2010 CONSUMER WINE AWARDS
American consumers have given three Gold Medals to the following Viñas del Vero wines: VdV Chardonnay 2009, VdV La Miranda de Secastilla 2007 and VdV Gran Vos Reserva 2004, this one selected like "Best of class". The 2010 Consumers Awards took place last 14th and 15th of March at Lodi (California).
12/03/2010 VIÑAS DEL VERO AT ALIMENTARIA 2010 TRADE FAIR
Alimentaria is the most important international food and beverages exhibition in Spain and one of the leading international events of this type. Its eighteenth edition will be held 22-26 March at Fira de Barcelona. The Viñas del Vero wines will be presented at the Gonzalez Byass stand, D190, propietary company of the winery from July, 2008.
01/02/2010 VIÑAS DEL VERO IN THE NEW WINE LIST OF IBERIA AIRLINES
Five new wines will be available for the Businnes Plus Class of Iberia airlines for February, March and April. One of them is our Viñas del Vero Chardonnay Colección 2007. This new wine list is offering wines of high quality that shows not only the diversity of the Spanish wine but also the great evolution that spanish wines have experimented in the last years. The five wines selected are: Viñas del Vero Chardonnay Colección 2007 (Somontano) "a Chardonnay with an international style", Pazo de Señorans 2009 (Rías Baixas), Pujanza 2005 (Rioja), Juan Gil 2007 (Jumilla) y Cadozos 2005 (Zamora).
22/12/2009 SUPERB RATINGS IN THE SPANISH WINE GUIDE "GUIA REPSOL 2010"
The Spanish Wine Guide "Guía Repsol" follows doing things as efficiently as its predecessor, the prestigious Guía Campsa, reinventing the meaning of the word "travelling" with innovative proposals and recommendations. Currently, its wine guide "Mejores Vinos de España" (Best wines from Spain), is one of the best options for wine lovers who, through its pages have the opportunity to discover more than 1.450 wines and 655 wineries. In 2010 edition, ten wines from Viñas del Vero have been awarded more than 90 points. Blecua, 94 points. Secastilla and VdV Gran Vos, 93 points. VdV Clarión, VdV Gewürztraminer Colección, VdV La Miranda de Secastilla, VdV Cabernet Sauvignon Colección and VdV Pinot Noir Colección have been awarded 92 points, and VdV Chardonnay Colección and VdV Merlot Colección obtained 91 points.
02/12/2009 VIÑAS DEL VERO CRIANZA WILL CONTINUE IN THE "AVE" TRAINS
Viñas del Vero Crianza of 18,75 cl format, will continue been offering in the menus that Renfe is serving in all the spanish high speed trains "AVE" between Madrid, Zaragoza and Barcelona. In spite of the change of the supplier, Renfe has taken the decision of continuing offering the Viñas del Vero Crianza.
19/11/2009 BLECUA, THE ICON WINE OF VIÑAS DEL VERO, IN THE TODOVINO LACRES TASTING 2009
Blecua, "the icon wine" of Viñas del Vero has been invited to the "Todovino Lacres Tasting Selection" that every year is organised by the prestigious Todovino Wine Club. In the 2009 edition, that took place yesterday at the Villamagna Hotel in Madrid, the Todovino members took the possibility of tasting the 41 best wines of Spain.
06/11/2009 VIÑAS DEL VERO SYRAH COLECCION 2005: NEW 2009 SOLIDARY WINE AT ROTARY CLUB IN HUESCA
Viñas del Vero Syrah Colección 2005 has been selected by the Rotary Club of Huesca as "Solidary Wine 2009". The presentation took place at the Pedro I Hotel in Huesca. More than one hundred people from these area were tasting this wine, bottled and labeled specially for the Rotary Club of Huesca. This Club is going to celebrate its 25th Aniversary in 2010, and along these years they have been developing a lot of solidary projects.
26/10/2009 VIÑAS DEL VERO AMONG THE TOP 10 SELLING WINES IN THE HORECA SECTOR IN SPAIN
According to the latest data published by Ac Nielsen in its famous "Analysis of the Top 45 brands in Hostelry of Spain", period August 2008 to July 2009, Viñas del Vero ranks nº 9th in the list of top selling brands in Spain in the Off trade (Horeca) sector. In just two years, Viñas del Vero has arised from position number 14 to number 9 overtaking wines that have traditionally been sold very well such as Protos, Faustino and Berberana, just to mention a few of them.

Viñas del Vero Chardonnay 2008 was awarded a Gold Medal in the prestigious international wine competition "Mundus Vini" that takes place every year in Germany.

The "number two" of the spanish political party "Partido Popular" and President of this party in the Castilla La Mancha region, Dolores de Cospedal, selected the Viñas del Vero Gewürztraminer Colección 2008 for her wedding that took part last week in Toledo.
01/09/2009 2009 HARVEST
The continuous high temperature of this summer 2009 has provoked an early maturity of the grapes and, of course, in the harvesting works. Thus, last Thursday 20th August the first picked up grapes arrived to the Viñas del Vero winery. This year, the quality of the grapes is good but alcohol is higher than previous years. Also, and due to the bad climatological conditions, the total amount of the grapes harvested will be lower than expected, around a 30% less.
10/08/2009 VIÑAS DEL VERO AT THE "DE VINOS" TV SHOW OF CANAL COCINA
The Canal Cocina TV recording team visited Secastilla Valley in Somontano at the end of July to record the TV show "De Vinos", having the new Viñas del Vero wine, "La Miranda de Secastilla" as main star. His author, the prestigious VdV winemaker Pedro Aibar, explained the differentiation of this wine and the special conditions of Secastilla Valley. The broadcasting of the first program was last Friday, 7th August.
02/07/2009 VIÑAS DEL VERO SYRAH 2006: THE BEST SYRAH IN SPAIN AND ONE ONE OF THE BEST IN THE WORLD
Viñas del Vero Syrah 2006 Series Limitadas has been considered as the best Syrah produced in Spain, and one at the top Syrah in the world in the 3rd edition of the "Syrah du Monde" international wine competition which took place during the last days in Ampuis, France. "Syrah du Monde 2009" brought together 397 wines from 27 countries, making this competition one of the world's top events for Syrah wines.
08/06/2009 DONATION OF VIÑAS DEL VERO TO THE RELIGIOUS ORDER OF WHITE CROSS
Last 4th June, at the Pedro I Hotel in Huesca, took place the check-giving with the donations to the Religious Order of White Cross and Rotary Club de Huesca for the sale of the "Solidary Wine": Viñas del Vero Cabernet Sauvignon Colección 2004, corresponding to the campaign 2008-2009. Viñas del Vero got an agreement with the Rotary Club for three years, by virtue of this agreement for every 6 bottles sold, 5 € are donated to beneficience.

Viñas del Vero presented his new wine at Zaragoza last Monday, 11th of May. With this new wine, Viñas del Vero continues his bet for the Secastilla valley. Now, Viñas del Vero is elaborating already two wines with grapes from this valley and supporting this way his differentiation in the Somontano region. "La Miranda de Secastilla 2006" is a peculiar, elegant and disctintive wine with an unique personality and an unforgettable structure and complexity.
27/04/2009 INNOVATIVE VIÑAS DEL VERO WINES TASTING ON BOAT THROUGH THE FOUR CANTONS IN SWITZERLAND
From the 4th until the 6th of May, it will take place an innovative tasting of the Viñas del Vero wines on boat through the wonderful four cantons. The ship "Europe" will depart from Lucerne and will sail throught the lake of the four cantons "Vierwaldstättersee". This amazing adventure is organized by Scherer & Buhler, Viñas del Vero's importer in Switzerland.

The most relevant Spanish wine businessmen and mass media celebrated an important event on occassion of the "2008 Management Prizes" of "Mercados del Vino y la Distribución" magazine. It took place in the "Real Casa de la Moneda" in Madrid. Among the Distributors category Prize, Exclusivas Navarro was awarded for its work, growth and development. The Prize was received by the owner of the company, Rafael Navarro.
23/02/2009 NEW VINTAGE OF THE VDV PINOT NOIR COLECCIÓN
Following the excellent success of the first vintage, 2006, of our Viñas del Vero Pinot Noir Colección, we have the pleasure to announce the launch of the new vintage 2007 of this delicate wine. As vintage 2006, the grapes come from the single vineyard "Las Almunias", situated at 770 meters above the sea level with a North orientation, and following the genuine burgundian winemaking style. Viñas del Vero Pinot Noir Colección 2006 was launched in May 2008 in the uncomparable scenario "L'Umbracle de la Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias" in Valencia (Spain), with the presence of more than 1200 winelovers. Just one inconvenient, once more, the production of this overwhelming wine is limited.

27/11/2008 THE 2008 VIÑAS DEL VERO WHITE WINES JUST IN THE MARKET
2008 is an overwhelming vintage for white wines. These have just been launched into the market, first Viñas del Vero Macabeo Chardonnay 2008 and within the next days, Viñas del Vero Chardonnay 2008 and Viñas del Vero Gewürztraminer Colección 2008.
15/10/2008 HARVEST 2008 AT VIÑAS DEL VERO
The 2008 harvest has been one of the most complex and shorter harvests in the history of Viñas del Vero and also in the Somontano D.O., due especially to both and extremely long vegetative period and to a reduction in the quantity of harvested grapes. Harvest began symbolically the 29th August with the early Pinot Noirs and the 2nd of September with the Chardonnay and Merlot, followed by the Gewürztraminer, Syrah and Tempranillo, finishing the 10th October with the Cabernet Sauvignon, Moristel, Parraleta and Garnacha. 2008 is an overwhelming vintage for white wines (fresh and intense aromas together with a good acidity balance) and expressive red wines (high chromatic intensity, round and harmonious tannins with medium alcohol levels). Within the D.O. Somontano, harvest amounts to 16.5 million kgr, which represents a decrease of 33% compared with 2007. In Viñas del Vero, we have hardly reached 5 million kgr barrier waht means a 30% decrease in comparison with our harvest in 2007.

Viñas del Vero has just released the 2007 vintage of our limited production Viñas del Vero Chardonnay Colección. The 2007 vintage of this wine, perfectly integrates the fruit aromas of the Chardonnay variety coming from our "San Miguel" Vineyard Estate with the toasty notes from the new Allier oak barrels in which the wine was fermented. It is a complex, balanced and elegant wine to surprise at special occasions.

Since yesterday, 11th July, Viñas del Vero is owned by Gonzalez Byass Group. This family owned company, founded in 1835, has established itself as a reference point in Spain's wine producing and export activities. Gonzalez Byass Group continues with its expanding strategy in the premium wine, becoming one of the most relevant Spanish groups, not only in turnover but also in worldwide distribution. According to Gonzalez Byass, Viñas del Vero meets "quality, image and distribution" requirements which are necessary for the positioning that the group aims to achieve in the premium wine business in the near future. After the acquisition, from an operational point of view, Viñas del Vero due to its successful course in the market, will retain its management independence within the group. Therefore, the current managing board of the winery will retain its positions, so the former structure and organization char will also be maintained.

The Spanish magazine “Capital” in its last edition, has published an interesting work edited by the “Renowing Brands Association and Exporters & Investors of Spain”. This study notes the Spanish brands that will be considered as a reference in the world in the next five years. Viñas del Vero has been considered one of these brands.
All these companies have a high degree of internationalization and will become within the next years in the “icon brands” of the “Made in Spain”. Capital magazine assures that “these brands will become shortly the currently Spanish top brands Zara, Mango or Freixenet”. Among these brands: Imaginarium, Desigual, Viñas del Vero, Roberto Verino, Pedro del Hierro, Florentino, Airis, Rosa Clará, Lizarrán, Carrera y Carrera …”. These brands will be the new icons for the Asiatics, nothamericans and European people”.

10/01/2008 VIÑAS DEL VERO IN THE 70st BIRTHDAY OF HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS THE KING JUAN CARLOS OF SPAIN
Our Viñas del Vero Chardonnay has been selected to be poured during the Gala Banquet on the eve of the Bithday which was held in the Pardo Paace last Wednesday 9th of January at Madrid and was being prepared by the prestigious restaurant Zalacain.
Again, one of the Viñas del Vero wines has been selected by the Royal Household to be present in their most important events, the Gala Banquet celebrated for the 70st Birthday of the King of Spain.
The selected wines were one from Somontano, Viñas del Vero Chardonnay, and one from Ribera del Duero, Malleolus.
Between 450 guests were invited to the Gala Banquet, all of them were the most important people from the State, Vips, relatives and close friends.
