WEAK.
A low-alcohol wine with characteristics which do not stand out.
WOODY.
Wine which has spent too long in wood. Dark white wine with a sharp, oxidised flavour. It also describes the colour with brown overtones and the slightly sweet, somewhat caramelised and often almondy character which is found in certain mature wines.
WOODY CHARACTERISTIC.
Some wines aged in new barrels present this characteristic which has overtones typical of wood, between woody and resinous.
WITHOUT VINTAGE.
Blend of two or more vintages, which enables the wine producer to maintain his own particular style year after year. Many champagnes, sparkling wines, those from Jerez and some Ports are presented like this.
WINE.
Natural drink obtained by the fermentation of the must of grapes.
