Each year, the young wines series includes wines made from the most traditional Somontano varieties, grown in our own vineyards along the banks of the Vero River.
VIÑAS DEL VERO CHARDONNAY-MACABEO
Produced by cold maceration and subsequent pressing of the Macabeo and Chardonnay grapes from our vineyards in Salas Bajas y Barbastro.
VIÑAS DEL VERO CABERNET-MERLOT
Made with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from our vineyards at Barbastro and Castillazuelo, this wine aged over a period of four months in French and American oak barrels.
The Crianza Wines includes wines made from local and international varieties grown at our own vineyards in Somontano.
VIÑAS DEL VERO CRIANZA
Made from Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, this wine is aged over a period of eight months in American oak barrels.
VIÑAS DEL VERO CHARDONNAY
Produced by cold maceration from 100% Chardonnay grapes prior to fermentation and in order to provide further complexity a small percentage of Barrel Fermented Chardonnay of the same vintage is added.
The perfect adaptation of the most internationally prestigious varieties to the soils of Somontano has enabled us to create a wide range of varietal wines. At Viñas del Vero we make each of our varietal wines with grapes selected from a single estate of limited production, which gives the wines their unique and exclusive characteristics.
VIÑAS DEL VERO GEWÜRZTRAMINER
Made with Gewürztaminer grapes selected from our estate “El Enebro”. It is produced by cold maceration of the newly harvested grapes in order to extract maximum varietal characteristics.
VIÑAS DEL VERO CHARDONNAY
Careful selection of Chardonnay grapes from our estate “San Miguel” is used for its production. New barrels made from French oak from the Allier forests are used for the fermentation and ageing on its lees for six months.
VIÑAS DEL VERO MERLOT
At our estate “El Ariño” the Merlot grapes all their characteristics. This wine is made taking special care not to alter its brilliance and matures for ten months in barrels made of fine-grained French oak from the Allier foresten.
VIÑAS DEL VERO CABERNET SAUVIGNON
The best Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from our estate “San Marcos” are selected for the creation of this wine. Produced with the utmost care in order to retain all of its varietal character, it finishes off maturing for ten months in barrels of fine-grain French oak from the Allier.
VIÑAS DEL VERO SYRAH
The best syrah grapes from our estate “Las Canteras” are selected for the creation of this wine. Produced with the utmost care in order to retain all of its varietal character, it finishes off maturing for ten months in barrels of fine-grain French oak from the Allier.
VIÑAS DEL VERO PINOT NOIR
The best pinot noir grapes from our estate “Las Almunias” are selected for the creation of this wine. Produced with the utmost care in order to retain all of its varietal character, it finishes off maturing for ten months in barrels of fine-grain French oak from the Allier.
Our own wines of Viñas del Vero are personally designed by our oenologist, Pedro Aibar. As well as his talent for selecting the best grapes of the noble varieties cultivated in our selected estates, we add his unique intuition, experience and palate for designing authentic creations. The adaptation of each process to the characteristics of the varieties used together with their final integration, has enabled Pedro to produce two exclusive wines of limited availability.
VIÑAS DEL VERO GRAN VOS RESERVA
Before each harvest our oenologist personally selects the best red grapes from our estates. Obtaining the best characteristics of each one of them in production of this magnificent wine is to the credit of its creator. Once our Gran Vos is made, it matures for eighteen months in barrels of French Allier oak.
VIÑAS DEL VERO CLARIÓN
The best white grapes from our best estates are personally selected by our oenologist before each harvest, in order to obtain the best fruit with which to create our Clarión each year. The result is a complex, elegant, powerful and well-structured wine, which reaches its peak after a certain time in the bottle.
